The trespass into my life by Hampshire Police on the 25th September, 2025, instigated by CAMHS art therapist, Sally Mungall, has cast an appalling indelible shadow over my life ever since. The full consequence of PC Newstead’s visit was still largely unguessed by me as September rolled over in October. I had made my way to the Joint Information Management Unit of Hampshire Police the very next morning to present physical ID documents as a part of an access to records request. I wanted eyes on potential evidence of complaints that Sally Mungall might have made against me in January and February of that year. Medical records already disclosed by Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust suggested that she had called the police about me at the beginning of that year and I wanted to check the veracity of any accusations she might have made. I suspected dishonesty.
My trip to the Joint Information Management Unit ( JIMU ) of Hampshire Constabulary at their Operational Headquarters in Tower Street, Winchester was my first venture outside since PC Newstead’s visit to my home. I travelled by train on a bright sunny Monday morning but the warmth of the day did nothing to dispel the palpable feeling of dread that I felt. Every person that wandered close now seemed dangerous. I remember waiting for the train back to Basingstoke, uncomfortable as other passengers joined me on the platform. I was particularly aware of women, especially when one would stand close and found myself moving away, again and again, as more passengers arrived. I ended up at the far end of the platform, fearful of further accusation. I am reminded of that final scene from the 1978 remake of Invasion of The Body Snatchers when Donald Sutherland turns to face Veronica Cartwright pointing and emitting a high-pitched scream to alert other aliens to apprehend her. I still feel that palpable feeling of dread whenever I am in public and still find myself putting distance between myself and any woman who stands too close to me.
I had been given assurance by Public Access Assistant at the JIMU, Sue Adcock, that my access to records request would be processed by the 29th of October, 2022 but I wasn’t prepared to sit around doing nothing. I initiated an immediate complaint in writing to the local Police Professional Standards Department ( PSD ).
All PSDs operate under a framework of legislation and guidance to ensure police officers and staff uphold high standards of conduct, integrity and professionalism. My complaint eventually found its way to Police Staff A Lowe, 17010, Professional Standards Investigator of the Complaint Resolution Unit at Fareham Police Station.
5th October, 2022 And then came the following email
From: REES, Katie (SPFT) ********************Sent: 05 October 2022 11:39To: ********************Subject: ************* - Closure
Good Afternoon Mark,
Please see attached copies of the documents Wanda discussed with you in your meeting.
Unfortunately due to the complex nature of your complaint and surrounding concerns, we will be unable to answer any further requests for information and you must go directly to the Information Commissioner's Office, they can be contacted on casework@ico.org.uk
Many thanks,
Katie Rees CISMP
Head of Information Governance, FOI & Records Management Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’
Nobody has ever explained what was meant by ‘complex nature of your complaint and surrounding concerns’ but I am absolutely certain that CAMHS General Manager, Wanda Reynolds, was ultimately responsible for denying further access to information. I continue to believe that Wanda Reynolds acted as ‘gatekeeper’ of information throughout her management of me, spin-doctoring on behalf clinicians and governing the narrative at my expense.
There were 14 documents attached to Katie’s email, all designated the same reference number against my daughter’s name. Close inspection revealed them to be further ‘session notes’ made by Sally Mungall during the time I was under her therapeutic care and, added together with the ‘session notes’ already handed over by Wanda Reynolds, made an almost the complete set.
My original access to records request of Information Governance at the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust should have seen full disclosure back in May 2022 at the latest but I was still being drip-fed and still being denied important information. There were, and still are, ‘session notes’ being withheld from me. Indeed, the investigation later carried out by the Health and Care Profession Council into their registrant, Sally Mungall, faced similar obstructions ( more on that in later posts to this blog ). Why? I can only speculate and assume those withheld ‘session notes’ contain information that incriminates Sally Mungall and or highlights serious failures by CAMHS and the wider Trust. If this is true then such obstruction amounts to CORRUPTION, surely?
I will unpack all of the information contained in Sally Mungall’s ‘session notes’ in later posts of ‘Just Caws’.
For now I will draw the reader to the first of the 14 documents, identified as ‘megan 1365700 – 02.09.2021 case disc following first appointment.pdf’ which was completed by Sally Mungall between 14.00 and 14.20 on the 2nd September, 2021 immediately following her first meeting with me. Her written words state
‘case discussion following SM’s parent work appointment.’
‘Strong countertransference of feeling violated by the intrusiveness within the room’.
The significance of this entry into the medical record cannot be understated.
‘Countertransference occurs whenever a therapist brings in their own experiences to the extent that they lose perspective of the client’s own and stop being objective (Jacobson, 2022).’
This statement, written by Sally Mungall, immediately after having met me for the first time under clinical observation, now revealed to me for the first time by Katie Rees, reset everything that had gone before!
