ADJOURNMENT

I will not be making any entries to this blog for up to two weeks.

For the last several months I have been looking for a break and some time to myself. I mulled over the possibility of resuming my walk from April, 2022 and seriously considered not returning. I still feel I have unfinished business somewhere along the 630 miles of the South West Coast Path. Maybe I’ll return there in April 2027 with little more than a single-man tent and my unfulfilled yearning to dissolve into sea salt and blend in permanently with weed and bubbling spume. I have, instead, committed myself to hunting the ghosts and running down the monsters of childhood. As part of my ongoing therapeutic recovery I have decided to take the opportunity to retread the boundaries of my earliest memories and make peace with the undead. I am headed to the small harbour and market town of Faversham, next to the Swale, and home to several breweries. Faversham was where I lived up until I was about 10 years old. This visit will be my first in over fifty-five years.

PUBLISHING SCHEDULE

Shortly after returning home I will continue writing entries to this blog.

I have the substantive remainder of my ‘Theory of Everything’ ready for editing and hope to complete this part of my blog in another four entries.

After which I will resume with the Chapters for ‘JUST CAWS’ which largely account for my experiences at CMHT, The Bridge Centre between October 2022 and September 2026. ‘JUST CAWS’ will also detail my daughter’s own haphazard journey through CMHT, The Bridge Centre from April 2022 to January 2025, detailing the disjointed management and often incompetent care coordination and therapy through to the largely successful intervention by OCD specialist, Matt Sopp. There will be around twenty-four instalments of ‘JUST CAWS’.

DOCUMENTARY

I am truly excited about my latest project which I will start working on properly at the end of this month.

My daughter, Meg, has sometimes suggested that I make shortform videos to promote my causes and publish them on YouTube or Tik Tok. Aside from drawing and painting for a living I have, in the past, also been variously employed as a lecturer, teacher and trainer. I have some skill in public speaking and am quite comfortable in front of a camera while Meg already owns all the necessary camera equipment and computer software to film and edit reasonably professional documentary style videos.

The current idea is to make a documentary version of my blog, ‘Four and Twenty Dead Crows’, retelling the biographical account of my journey through mental health services in Basingstoke. The production so far centres on a documentary presentation published in twelve episodes of around ten minutes each, covering all of the contentious issues that have arisen over the last few years, focusing primarily on CAMHS, Bramblys Drive, Basingstoke, the Community Mental Health Team at the Bridge Centre, Basingstoke and Hampshire Constabulary in Basingstoke and Winchester. Some episodes will also examine the work of the Information Commissioners Office alongside the failures of the Parliamentary Health Service Ombudsman and the Health and Care Professions Council. I will be taking cameras on location around Basingstoke, Winchester and Central London and will extend invitations to prominent spokespeople, including my local MP, for interview.

I will upload each episode, once a month over the course of a year, to all prominent social media platforms including YouTube and forward to the BBC, GB News, Sky News, other news corporations and the alternative media.

It would be fun to continue my cosplay persona and don the same crow mask and cape that I used in my protests outside Parliament and Downing Street on the 24th June, 2025 though I am tempted to make a new headpiece, adopting the guise of the disputatious main character in my other ‘Project’.
